Junior Premier League
To be the best, you have to play with the best!
Now in its 6th Season the JPL have grown to over 90 clubs and over 400 teams with multiple age groups from u10 to u18, these represent 22 County FA Regions.
A great cross section of clubs involved from Premier League clubs to FootballLeague clubs then Conference clubs and semi-professional clubs.
The JPL encourage clubs to give more contact time to their players and many of our initiatives are aimed at developing the players to the highest level possible through dierent football experiences (futsal & street soccer) as well as the traditional match day experience. The NEW indoor Futsal facility at Carterton FC is the perfect venu for our FA/JPL qualified coaches to deliver exactly that!
Grouping young players according to physical maturity rather than age allows their talent to shine. Boys & girls growth fluctuate considerably, especially throughout adolescence. This can have an impact on their performance levels.
At JPL RTC our teams/training groups are chosen by Bio Banding not age. By manipulating these factors we can level the ‘playing field’ as the task constraints can be altered to suit the individual. What is the assessment:
- Fitness Assessment - 40m Sprint, Agility, Standing Jump, Reaction Time
- Tactical Assessment - Observing players within a game situation.
- Technical Assessment - a range of passing, skill and technique practice
- Assessment evenings - Player, parent & coach will attend.
JPL RTL Vision
To create centres that can attract talented and motivated players that will benefit from high quality coaching and a games programme in a great learning environment.
JPL RTL Ethos
To develop players through a planned syllabus of coaching in order to prepare them to make that step up into Professional Academy football or a reputable post 16 education course.
Talent Identification Programme
A recruitment system that is more than just observing players in a game. An approach using a measurable model. Players will be assessed on arrival once assessed, players will be forwarded in to one of our Bio Banded training groups. Teams will be fluid and flexible in the fact that players play up and down depending on ability, challenge and opportunity. Not age!
